I came to the realisation that I hadn’t been ok for a long time. I was busy doing so many other things that I didn’t really have time for some self-reflection, to truly see how I was doing. There is stigma around being down or even talking about and I never quite understood that. It’s ok not to be ok sometimes, what would life be without a few lows. Truly, it all comes down to how you deal with it.
I decided to take a very last minute solo trip to Algarve, Portugal. While Algarve is a popular tourist destination, it’s still rather quiet which is all I needed. I spent my time walking around with no maps or directions, falling asleep at the beach, reading books in random cafés and best of all, barely checking my phone. It’s really what I needed to collect my thoughts and I guess, have me time.
I stayed at Vila Vita Parc Resort & Spa, a truly amazing hotel set on a cliff that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and a one minute walk from the beach. I would definitely recommend staying here. Aside from its amenities, the staff were wonderful.
As I said, I barely checked my phone which also means I didn’t take much photos. But I did get a few!
